Under the support of the HKSAR Government, IncuTrain Centre has successfully recruited 110 incubated companies (“incubatees”) in Seven intakes. These creative entrepreneurs are working in a wide array of projects including game, animation, edu- / infotainment, music/audio, and tools and technologies.

In order to help bring the incubatees closer to success and develop the digital economy, we have invited esteemed entrepreneurs and academics to be their mentors and also their friends to coach them with advice, guidance and critical opinion on:

  • Resources, information and development of the business or industry;
  • Strengths and weaknesses of their business/project development and strategy; and
  • Referral of collaboration partners/opportunities as appropriate.

Vincent HO 

Vincent Ho is the founder and CEO of GD interactive Limited (3GTV) in Hong Kong and China, the company is a subsidiary of Southern Media Corporation (SMC) and positioning is a mobile media and focus on China and Asia market. www.3gtv.net

Vincent Ho has received the Excellence China enterpriser innovation Award 2009 at the Great Hall of the People.

Now Mr. Ho is the course leader of Vocational Training Council (VTC) for the course which provided by Peak and IVDC division. Ho is the founder of New Media Foundation, RTHK Program consultant and Mentor of Cyberport incutrain Centre.

Vincent Ho was the Senior Manager of e-Business Solutions in 2000 to 2003, and responsible for all e-Commerce Projects and production. Vincent is a pioneer with over 15 years' experiences in Internet and IT development and new media management. Under his leading and successful management, many famous banking in Hong Kong became his partners, such as Hong Kong Bank online banking, www.hsbc.com.hk, Hang Seng eBanking, www.hangseng.com, Wing Lung Net Banking, www.winglungbank.com.hk and consultancy of China Construction Bank, www.ccbhk.com

Vincent was International Business Development Manager at Cable & Wireless HKT IMS, where he managed the overall strategic direction and daily operations of the company with Regional countries across Hong Kong, Taiwan and Canada production team. www.netvigator.com, www.netvigator.com.tw , www.netvigator.ca . He also managed daily content development, application development, marketing communication.

Vincent is a Hong Kong Film critic. He is the President of the Hong Kong Film Critic’ Association during year from 2005 to 2007. He is graduated of Master of Strategic Business Information Technology from University of Portsmouth and Bachelor of Social Science (Honors) in Communication from Hong Kong Baptist University.

Marvin LAI  

Mr. Marvin LAI is currently the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Trans-Telecom Holdings Ltd. (a global leader in the distribution of communications and wireless terminals), a partner of iTM Ventures Inc. (a strategic investment arm of the Trans-Telecom Group) and a corporate advisor to both NU Telecom Ltd. (a pioneer in innovative distribution platforms) and Sincere Logistics and Management Services Ltd. (a leader in management consulting in the Asia-Pacific region).

Mr. LAI has over twenty years of experience in a wide variety of business disciplines, including: international operations, general management, corporate governance and finance, strategic formulation and implementation, sales and marketing, telecommunication distribution channels, emerging technology, fast moving consumer goods, and entrepreneurial experience in starting companies in the USA, Europe, Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions.

Mr. LAI began his career at IBM and AT&T Bell Laboratories in the USA, before accepting the following positions: Managing Director of Maran International Ltd., a pioneer in Original Design Manufacturing (ODM) of infant toys and accessories for the US and European retail sectors; Managing Director of EETAL Engineering China Ltd., a leading technical reseller of both TV transmitters and granite and marble processing equipment in Greater China, for Italian firms Itelco S.p.A. and Mordenti S.p.A.; General Manager of the Asia-Pacific region for Caudwell International Ltd., a British-based leader in the global distribution of mobile phones and accessories.

Mr. LAI holds a B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University (New York, USA), an M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from John Hopkins University (Maryland, USA) and an M.B.A. in General Management from Kensington University (California, USA). In addition, Mr. LAI attended an intense Columbia Senior Executive Program run by Columbia Business School, Columbia University.

Mr. LAI is currently studying for a Ph.D. at Macquarie Graduate School of Management, Macquarie University (Sydney, Australia), where he is investigating the factors that demonstrate success of venture capital-backed businesses in China in particular. One of his primary research interests is concerned with identifying how to build businesses that last and grow to multi-national level.

Dr. Elizabeth Quat      

Co-Founder and Immediate Past President and of iProA

CEO of CB Strategic Investment Limited and Director of SC Fulfil Limited

Dr. Elizabeth Quat is the Co-Founder and Immediate Past President of Internet Professional Association (iProA), the Founder and CEO of CB Strategic Investment Limited which focus in investment in ICT and Education areas, and the Director of SC Fulfil Limited, which provides logistics consultancy, IT solutions and system services.

Being an active advocate of industry development and community service, Dr. Quat serves in committees of various government bodies to enhance and improve Hong Kong's competitiveness and IT professional standards.

Dr. Quat was one of the "Ten Outstanding Young Persons" and "Ten Outstanding Young Digi Persons" in 2001, "The Most Successful Women 2002" in 2002, and "Hundred Outstanding Women Entrepreneurs in China" in 2006. These awards acknowledged her significant outstanding achievement and contribution to the Hong Kong community.

Dr. Quat's versatility and passion for life began at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts where she majored in dancing. To equip herself in her pursuit of excellence she received her degrees in BBA and MBA in Marketing, and a Ph.D. degree in Management through part time study. She is currently a Master student of the Hong Kong University's Family Institute major in Marriage and Family Therapy. An amateur yet with professional standard, she is a certified PADI Scuba Diving Instructor, a Medic First Aid Instructor and an Underwater Photographer. Dr. Quat is married, and has been a vegetarian for 19 years.

Some of her remarkable projects included:          

-       1999: Founded the Internet Professional Association which now represents over 1,400 ICT professionals. It contributes towards improving professionalism of information technology practitioners, encouraging ICT professionals to share social responsibilities, as well as striving to bridge the digital divide in Hong Kong.

-       2001: Initiated the “Web Care Campaign” which aims to narrow digital divide by promoting web accessibility and delivered unified and standardized Internet training programmes for women, children, the elderly, and the disabled. 

-       Oct 2003: Founder and President of the “Global Alliance for Bridging the Digital Divide” (GABDD), which consisted of a group of experts and professionals from 24 countries to narrow digital divide globally.

-       June 2005: Initiated the “SME Entrepreneur Consortium” (SMEEC), which was the first SME consortium in the world that brought together different stakeholders to help SMEs to better understand market opportunities and risks, acquire know-how in financing their businesses, and use information and communications technology (ICT) effectively. 

-       Aug 2005: Initiated the founding of the “eHealth Consortium” which aims to facilitate and promote the use of IT as a complementary tool in the health care industry, enhancing the accessibility, quality and effectiveness of health care services in Hong Kong.

-       Sept 2005: Co-Organized the 4th China Internet Conference in Beijing with the Internet Society of China

Dr. Alyce SU               

Dr. Alyce SU is the Founder of China Queen Capital (HK) Ltd., backed by an US$ centi-millionaire Partner of a Wall Street elite Firm, a private capital introduction shop, raising capital and having raised capital for Asian Hedge Funds, Asian Private Equity Funds, and Asian Private Entrepreneurs, leveraging her track record of raising US$ 1+ bn for Goldman Sachs and GAM.

SZE Yan Ngai              

 

Born in Fujian Province, PRC and migrated to Hong Kong when he was about 10 years of age, Mr. Sze was involved in comics industry and soon established his own publishing business at the age of 20. His company has published Hong Kong's first computer game magazine "PC Game Weekly" and followed by another famous magazine "Player Online Weekly". In 2000, he joined Gameone as CEO and he has set up a subsidiary Company in Shenzhen in 2001. "Gulong Online" which he developed was awarded with "The 1st Hong Kong Digital Entertainment Excellence Awards"and the "Cyberport Award"in 2003. In 2004, he established China Game Publishers Association (Hong Kong) and was appointed Convener«????»», another game developed by Mr. Sze, became the first Hong Kong Online Game to be selected by General Administration of Press and Publication of the People's Republic of China as "China National Online Game Publication Project" in 2005.

Eddy WONG   

Eddy Wong Wang Hin, CEO and Director of Menfond Electronic Art & Computer Design, founded the company with his brother in 1990. Eddy Wong graduated from the China Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beiging in 1989 and has since devoted his time and talent to Menfond. After producing the first-ever computer animated TV commercial, Eddy immediately impressed the creative world and has since been awarded numerous more projects including worldwide tv commercials and feature movies. Eddy has produced visual effects for Jackie Chan's GORGEOUS and THE NEW POLICE STORY, Jet Li's FEARLESS, as well as TWINS EFFECT, MASTER Q:2001, A CHINESE TALL STORY and INITIAL D.

Under the leadership of Eddy, Menfond has won numerous international awards and recognitions including Electronic Theatre from SIGGRAPH, Digital Theatre from IMAGINA, the New York Festival Awards, the Grand Prize of the Japan International Advertising Award, the Best Visual Effects Award from the Taipei Golden Gorse Film Festival and the Best Visual Effects Award from the Hong Kong Film Awards.

Furthermore, Eddy actively focuses on training new blood for the animation industry. Joinly with The Hong Kong Productivity Council, he created Hong Kong's first training program for Film Visual Effects and has to date trained over 200 new animators. Bernard Suen   

Bernard, Honorary Project Director of Center for Entrepreneurship, CUHK, has worked in the ICT industry for over twenty years with domestic, PRC, and International project management and consulting experiences. Founded and helped to launch several IT and new media companies, Bernard has served in a full spectrum of responsibilities in acquisition, private placement, initial public offering, joint-venture, valuation, due-diligence, design, operation, sales, marketing, project management, software development, and system integration throughout his career in the field of ICT.
In the last 10 years, Bernard has been responsible for the development of new media services and implementation of new media projects for media, culture, and design organizations such as Emperor Group, Panorama Entertainment, yU+co[HK], and Hong Kong International Film Festival. Currently, Bernard is the business director of Esthete Creative Consultants Ltd., a design company specializing in interactive, information, and knowledge design.
Since 2001, Bernard has developed and taught courses in new media and technology entrepreneurship and new media product development for the Master of Science in New Media and Master of Business Administration programs at CUHK. His research, teaching, consulting, and project management interests have been in new media, information architecture, knowledge management, interactive and service design, prototyping, and business model development.
Bernard joined the CUHK Center for Entrepreneurship in early 2007 with a focus to develop educational programs in entrepreneurship for the creative and cultural industries and to facilitate inter-disciplinary collaboration, innovation, and technology commercialization.

Denis Tse   

Denis Tse is the Senior Vice President of CDIB Capital Ltd. Denis is the first recipient of the Kauffman Fellowship – an internationally renowned recognition of up-and-coming venture capitalists – from an Asian venture capital firm.  He has been involved in a number of successful investments, including NuSpeed (acquired by Cisco), Photonic Bridges (acquired by Siemens), Actions Semiconductors (IPO on NASDAQ) and eTon Solar (IPO in Taiwan), among others.  On the entrepreneurial side, Denis is also a co-founder of Acasia Technologies, a Hong Kong-based photonic packaging venture that was acquired by TDK, and was an early director at Tudou, the largest user-generated video community in China.

Denis has been with several preeminent investment firms including HSBC Private Equity Technology (Asia), Warburg Pincus, J.H. Whitney and Piper Jaffray.  He has an MBA from INSEAD in France and a BSc from Northwestern University in the US.

Eric Cheng  

Eric Cheng is the Head of China ICT Team of Finland Trade Center (FTC), Consulate General Office of Finland in Hong Kong. His major job scope is managing a team of local FTC ICT consultants in 4 major China cities to assist Finnish ICT SME!|s in their internationalization needs especially expansion into mainland China and Hong Kong.

Eric graduated in Computer Science from University of British Columbia in Canada, and has acquired vast practical and management experience in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, USA and Canada.

Eric's broad industry experience includes manufacturing, servicing, telecommunications and information technologies. He has 20+ years of working experiences in consulting, operation and business development; and held several senior management positions including Business Development Director of a HKSE listed manufacturer, Founder of an internet business, and Business Development Director of IT companies.

During his tenure as Senior Partner of Expense Reduction Analysts, Eric's team of experts successfully delivered millions of dollars of tangible savings in many business operation and procurement categories including telecommunications, logistics, packaging, office supplies, reprographics, printings, insurance, etc. for dozens of customers.

Prior to that, Eric raised funding, found www.beijing.com and www.shanghai.com, and successfully launched operations in Beijing and Shanghai. His other ICT experiences include senior positions in HKSE listed telecommunication equipment manufacturer, and internet start-ups, namely www.outblaze.com and www.hellovoice.com.
