About the Speaker
Hal Josephson is President of the San Francisco firm MediaSense Inc., specializing in strategic marketing planning, international business development consultation and project management services for high-tech industries for more than 20 years. His clients include: Apple, Motorola, IDG, KPMG, Australian Multimedia Enterprise, Ontario Media Development Corporation, NewMedia Magazine, Basex, Digital Club Network, InternetWire, WebMedia, TradeNZ, ReedMidem, SpiritUp!, Business Image Group, Infotech Canada, Australasian Access, iVistra, Career NZ, Virtual Spectator, and Penton Publishing.

Hal has helped companies in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK and China to find markets and business partners in the US and other countries. Conversely, Hal also counsels US firms who are interested in pursing business opportunities on the Pacific Rim. Hal has industry experience in software licensing, teleconferencing, computer gaming, satellite communications, cable television and broadcasting. In addition, he has specific expertise in international business development along with strategic and tactical marketing, plus a second career in large-scale event design, planning, program development, sponsorship cultivation and production management.

  • Builtevent infrastructure for NewMedia Magazine with key corporate sponsors including IBM, Intel, Microsoft, AT&T, SGI, LookSmart and Apple
  • Created and developed strategic marketing and industry relations programs for IDG subsidiary with a specific focus on the re-launch of the $16M event Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3)
  • Managed US$3.7M media event showcase in Motorola and generated an additional $2.5M in promotional sponsorship contributions from Silicon Graphics, and other high-tech companies
