I. INTRODUCTION
Cyberport Speaker Series (CSS) is a novel event providing an opportunity for successful business leaders and practitioners with visionary break-through in digital entertainment to share their insights and experience with industry practitioners and the general public. The series also creates great networking opportunities for industry practitioners to develop business collaboration.
Commencing from 8 November 2005, the series is planned to be held on a bi-quarterly/quarterly basis.
Join this unique CSS if you are in digital entertainment, IT, film and creative industries as marketers, retailers, advertisers, content creators, technology providers, game publishers, developers, researchers or students.

IV. PROMINENT SPEAKER
Penelope Douglas is the President and Co-Founder of Pacific Community Ventures (PCV), which began operations in January 1999. PCV’s mission is to provide resources and capital to businesses that have the potential to bring significant economic gains to low-income communities throughout California. As co-founder of the first west coast community venture fund, Ms. Douglas is a pioneer and thought leader in the area of community venture capital. She has served on the board of directors of the Community Development Venture Capital Association (CDVCA) and is a frequent presenter at industry conferences.
Currently, Penelope serves on the boards of New Mexico Community Capital (NMCC), New Vine Logistics, and Evergreen Lodge. Before joining PCV, she was Senior Vice President at Odwalla, Inc., Chief Administrative Officer at Morrison & Foerster, and chair of the Morrison & Foerster Foundation. For the last fifteen years, Ms. Douglas has been involved with community-based non-profit organizations, serving as chair of Larkin Street Youth Center, chair of the Children’s Television Education and Resource Center, chair of San Francisco Friends of the Urban Forest and founding chair of Ju-ma Ventures. Penelope Douglas is a California native and her education includes a B.A. from Smith College. She is also an artist and an athlete who has competed in four Ironman distance triathlons.
