Description :The product has applied Augmented Reality technology and traffic simulation. It provides real-time editing and generates a quick visualization of a traffic simulation, including human flow, transportation, etc. By photo taking a floor plan or a map with a mobile device, the photo is transformed to an Augmented Reality marker and a virtual environment is then set up inside the application. The traffic simulation is then generated based on the virtual environment. Simulation methods would be based on probabilities and statistics. With the use of Augmented Reality, user could view the virtual environment, which implied on the physical floor plan or map, from different angles and distances by moving the camera of the device. User could place and further arrange the physical models on the floor plan or map, matching with the virtual traffic simulation. When using the product, low level of technology is required, hence, reducing user’s time for learning and training. User could focus more on real-time editing and overall visualization. The product could be used in pre-production stage, such as event planning, site planning and transportation planning, etc. Besides, it could be used for exhibition purpose, such as real estates and properties shows. It would be a new tool for presentation and marketing. The product is a portable application on mobile devices. It would be distributed through App Store and Google Play worldwide or sold to companies with additional custom-made features. For examples, in an exhibition, the application shows the locations of on-site visitors instead of human flow simulation; it would become a traffic control application then. It is of a high flexibility with changeable contents. In this project, beta version could be launched within first three months from grant disbursement. After refining based on public feedback, the final product could be launched within next three months.
