Chief Executive Officer (Ref# Cyberport - CEO)

The HKCMCL now invites applications for the post of Chief Executive Officer to lead Cyberport to fulfil its role as Hong Kong’s ICT flagship, to facilitate the overall innovation and technology ecosystem, and deliver its public missions. These include inspiring the next generation, nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit and leaping on global ambition. Under the steer of the Board of Directors and in close cooperation with the Government, the Chief Executive Officer, is the executive head who takes full responsibility for setting the strategy and managing the operation of Cyberport.

Roles and Responsibilities:
The Chief Executive Officer’s main responsibilities include -

  • To provide strong leadership in developing Cyberport into a global hub for innovation and technology in supporting the ICT ecosystem in Hong Kong;
  • To formulate effective strategies and business plans for Cyberport on implementation of programmes to deliver the public missions of Cyberport, including funding programmes for entreprenurs and start-ups, accelerator programmes and venture capital investments;
  • To ensure that Cyberport is in a sound financial position to implement the public missions programme of Cyberport;
  • To foster the growth of technology enterprises and develop clusters of excellence, such as FinTech, e-commerce, big data, etc.;
  • To provide a platform to support industry, academia, SMEs and related players in Hong Kong and for them to create synergy;
  • To assist local ICT companies to expand into Mainland/overseas markets and to attract renowned ICT companies both from Mainland and overseas to conduct R&D and build business platforms at Cyberport;
  • To organise world-class ICT events to brand build Cyberport and Hong Kong;
  • To plan and implement major initiatives as directed by the Board like capital works projects and networking with overseas and Mainland markets and related technology/trade associations;
  • To implement highest standard of management practices in risk management, corporate governance, public accountability and management of board and committee matters;
  • To achieve the key performance indicators and other targets set by the Board of Directors; and
  • To cultivate a motivated work force that is stable, competent, responsive and is operating within budgets.

Requirements:

  • A University degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant disciplines. MBA or a Master degree in related disciplines preferable;
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, preferably at least 5 years in senior managerial positions;
  • A strategic and innovative leader who has strong motivation in leading Cyberport in making significant contribution to the development of Hong Kong’s ICT ecosystem;
  • Strong network in business, government and academia in Hong Kong, Mainland China, and around the globe;
  • Strong business acumen, good management as well as interpersonal and communication skills; and
  • Good command of both English and Chinese (including Putonghua and Cantonese).

Senior Manager – Venture Investments (Ref# SMVI170512W)

This position will be primarily responsible for identifying and maintaining a portfolio of Cyberport digital companies with sound investment potential

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research potential investment targets, markets, and sector trends, and general contribution to fund level thinking and strategy
  • Originate and execute deal transactions by, but not limited to, active participation in the Cyberport start-up community, frequent attendance of events, panels, and discussions
  • Manage co-investors, connect target companies to co-investors, and negotiate investment terms, if necessary
  • Conduct due diligence and close of new transactions (end-to-end), including drafting of investment reports with thorough strategic and financial analysis, valuation models and recommendations, and identifying exit potentials
  • Define and execute on systems/processes to establish a portfolio of Cyberport Companies from an investment perspective
  • Assist in the management of the portfolio of investments, but not limited to forecast of the change in financial position, review and assess the liquidity of assets and the fund planning or arrangement
  • Prepare the fund and periodical reports to management
  • Assist Cyberport management on adhoc projects

Requirements:

  • Degree in a business-related discipline from a leading university
  • Minimum 5 years’ working experience, with at least 3 years related to venture investment or corporate investment
  • Solid experience in origination and execution of transactions
  • Strong analytical, due diligence, and financial modeling skills; ability to analyse and value businesses
  • Ability to write and deliver, in English, high-quality Board, strategy and other position papers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with fluency in Mandarin and English
  • Strong work ethic and demonstrated commitment to excellence
  • Pro-active, self-motivated and goal-oriented
  • Strong team player, able to work effectively in a team environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with different business partners, schools, educational institutions and associations
  • Provide administrative support to the team on youth events/programmes planning and execution
  • Arrange and lead tours for schools / students / youth visiting Cyberport
  • Handle procurement of services or products, e.g. RRP preparation and handling vendor enquires
  • Assist in team’s budget control

Requirements:

  • Degree holder in Communications / Marketing / Business Studies /  Tourism and Hospitality Management or other relevant disciplines
  • At least 3 years of experience in marketing / communications / administration / programme or event management
  • Experience in dealing with external agencies and vendors for events/ programmes, and also the production of marketing collaterals of various forms
  • Experience in working with education sector, industry association and/or public organization or non-profit organisation is preferable
  • Experience in guiding tour group is an advantage

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good written and spoken English and Chinese; good Mandarin is an advantage

Macro Fund Internship Programme (Ref# CIP17/MF/0222)

What is Cyberport Internship Programme?

We offer students to gain valuable experiences and training for a period of 3 to 6 months as part of their curriculum requirement.  Each selected candidate will be assigned a specific project and a mentor.  Each project will have well-defined deliverables, providing students with practical experience and learning objectives.

To join us, you need to have:

  • Excellent academic results with career aspiration in venture capital or early-stage investments
